Bodies, disability, and the expressionist ideal

A conversation with a brilliant woman brought up an interesting insight.

See, I've been trying to wrack my brain trying to understand where some of this weirdness from the AI hating weirdos is coming from? Some of the unhinged bizarre things they say, and even the way they see the world.

But she had this really interesting insight.
Art for them, seems to be about fetishizing the body. You're never disabled because your body can do anything... they say, with their perfectly workable bodies. As they flaunt both their privilege and wealth.

My fingers
my hands
my eyes
my mouth

It's weirdly Freudian, isn't it.

And that makes me think of the Expressionists.

Remember the palpable disdain for the Expressionists that all the early Dadaists had?

Nothing ever changes in art. It just does its own laundry.
