I'm going to have a really interesting MCP RAD-style prototype dropping over the next couple of days.
It's a deterministic code generator, inspired by the low-code and RAD-style solutions of the early 2000s, complete with UI.
But it has an agentic backend, designed so that even a 9B-parameter local model can follow it.
Things I'm going to test
- Does it make the human experience with code generation more interesting and controllable?
- Does it save as much in token use as I think it might, relative to the standard use case?
- Can small local models follow the procedures in the workflow to make basic but functional TypeScript apps and simple databases?
If I can get a yes on two out of three of these vectors, it'll be worth exploring as a product.
And if you like, you can be my guinea pig.
