Remembering CodeCharge’s global and local views

Anybody remember CodeCharge?

It's ancient history at this point, but it was such a great tool. At least the first couple major releases, before the devs lost the page on what they were trying to build.

Imagine this: A sort of proto-vibe coding tool, that could procedurally generate an entire app from a database connection or local schema.

Great for building simple crud apps. For a long time, or maybe a minute, it felt like the only sensible way to write Cold Fusion applications.

It had three modes of thinking:

1. Global: See what the entire app does.

2. Local, control what kind of layouts you would like for your various page types. Broken down into handy little sections that were controlled and easy to manage.

3. Data. And this was important. From here you could reimagine how your data flows. Where it comes from, what the relationships are, and where it goes. Data view let you do simple, or complex querying in the same interface.

Not gonna lie, I'm feeling nostalgic, and I miss it.
