I've been thinking seriously about the cancer of triangle embedded content, and the fact that nobody in the world is taking it seriously.
Every day, people are exposed to images and animation with triangles in it, and they blindly consume this content, sometimes... without even knowing.
We are exposing innocent children to images of triangles every day.
And the world is silent.
So I've taken it upon myself to write an app that detects and categorizes triangles, then it sorts them by frequency and risk.
Not all triangles are created equal, and the amount of triangle related content in an image matters. It matters very much actually.
Upon completion of the analysis, the system will tell you where the triangles are, and how serious your exposure might be.
You might very well be able to look at an image, and think to yourself, "I know there are triangles in this image, there's one right there!"
But can you ever really be sure?
Do you even know the difference between an isosceles triangle and a hypotenuse triangle?
And wouldn't you like to know the severity of your exposure? Well, now that you know it's a problem... of course you would.
As an expert in all things, and someone who is deeply aware of the problems triangles cause... I'm here to help.
Over the next couple of days, I'll be donating a free and open source triangle detector that you can run on your own computer to know how bad the triangle problem is.
To this end, I will be building both a web application and a public facing API ... for a low monthly fee.
It's not about the money, my friends.
It's about a living in a world where the three pointed menace isn't forced on everyone.
Think of the children!!!
Now, I understand that there will be false positives.
No triangle detector is going to be perfect, and I do expect that the target will change as the technology for making triangles advances.
But we have to put our foot down, as a culture, and decide what kind of world we really want to live in.
More soon.
