This week, I'm seeing a trend in vibe coding circles.
Commit screenshots. You've seen people do these. Huge line counts on insert, tiny numbers of lines deleted relative to the inserts.
Looks impressive until you realize it’s probably untested code.
So, 12k lines or more with 73 deletes tells me:
1. You've got bad process somewhere.
2. First draft energy!
3. You haven't scanned for mocks and placeholders.
or
4. Your commits are way too big because you don't submit them often enough, and now they're unreviewable! Congrats. We've all been there.
As a rule of thumb for iterative AI-assisted, human-in-the-loop style development:
Your deletes should be between 5-7% of your commit volume.
Speaks to good process
Tells me that you're checking your code
Tells me that you're thorough
Too much higher, say, in the 15% range, suggests you've got prompt poisoning, a case of the dumb Claudes, or churn going on. That's where you either need to rethink your communication, work over a smaller slice of the project, or start a new session.
Hope that helps!
