One of my internal struggles as an artist is finding a balance between the controlled and the chaotic. Dada says, "abandon all reason," but that's challenging, because for me, art has always been a meticulous analytical process.
So I struggle with it sometimes. I think the whole idea of giving up control is challenging for artists who were trained conventionally. But I think there's a freedom there, in the gray area, and that's what I like about it.
Also, we must recognize the rhetorical brilliance of the historic Dadaists.
