So here's my Sunday project. I woke up this morning feeling this insatiable need to write a needy love song. Let's talk about the process, the song and the video!
This one's another archetype song. Not about anyone in particular. It's about a feeling, more than anything, and that's interesting. I like exploring pieces like that.
So, you might be surprised to know that not all of my songwriting experiments are all that successful. At least, not at first. But since I'm a song seed hoarder, I never delete anything.
Parts of this came from a song I wrote called, "Sleep Walker." When I was going through my archive, I found part of the chorus. Sleep Walker was this good but unfinished thing I wrote for the Michael Jackson style songwriting experiment that didn't quite work.
Part of it was that I just wasn't feeling it at the time. But I am now๐.
So, when I looked at it this morning, I saw the bones of a pretty good song. Basically, I added details and tried to make it catchier.
And if you squint, you might still be able to see Billie Jean in it, a little. I can tell, because I wrote this, and I know it's in there. Or, er, it was.
The concepting here happened in Udio. I don't remember if I was chord hacking it or not. It's not important.
The video is a collage of public domain Hollywood and sexploitation films. This time, I used "I love trouble" and "these girls are fools." Picked strictly for their titles and dropped haphazardly into the composition.
The guitar girl is four seconds of eleven labs, looped for an 8 second clip, and lip synced with the Rudhara lip model, which is cheap, workable, decent, and fast, also, it has no time limit! So it's a lot easier to work with than the one from Runway, which is only a marginally better model.
Then, I composited the whole thing in DaVinci Resolve.
I did the effects in filmora, with the help of their AI.
And that's how I make these.
