Here's an original hand painted collage I made.
This is Volume 9, Document #228.
Documents roll back to zero at the beginning of a new volume. Typically, a volume has 300-500 documents in it. I haven't settled on what a good size is, there.
But like most people in this space, I've been making art for quite a while.
I don't use titles or sign my work. That's the behavior of traditionalists, and they're all a bunch of worthless idiots. So I don't... emulate their behavior.
This collage falls into the category of something called a "blotter" or a "noise painting."
The objective here isn't per se aesthetic purity, so much as it is a work designed to displace, and confuse both the human eye, and AI based image classification systems.
Yes, it's a handmade piece of art, but it's designed to be melted. To have its soul sucked out like bone marrow, by a cold calculating machine that consumes art and destroys it.
Often, when I do these, there's some point I'm trying to make. Or something I'm trying to wrap my head around. I won't discuss it, usually, until later.
But it usually involves something or someone I would like to destroy. Meaning or importance that I want to steal away.
This piece in particular is a meditation on understated evil.
Allow me to explain.
The eyes on this one came from a picture of a woman who told me publicly that she crawls under bathroom stalls in the ladies room to see if anyone has a penis.
After all... you never can be too sure.
What was I supposed to do?
Not save those creepy fucking eyes in my reference folder?
I think not.
The lips came from a mugshot of a pastor who pleaded guilty to raping six children in church last year.
Here, I also used a lot of architectural photography, Craigslist free items, and Facebook Marketplace photos. There are a couple of drone shots of coal fired power plants and military installations from Google Maps, and other things I can't remember putting in.
The layering work here is fairly standard. Moving between flat layers of the entire image, and focusing different filters on specific details.
Here are the collage and the Krita layers.
