Why I never get tired of Dada

I think the thing that keeps me interested in Dadaism, and the reason I've never gotten tired of it, is the bipolar nature of the thing. It gyrates madly between serious social commentary about art and the world, but it's not so serious that it can't be fun. That's a good mix.

Allegedly, Dada is nothing. But it's a particular type of nothing that knows what it is, what it likes, and doesn't like. It's designed to spread like a virus, by the simple fact of its existence. And claims all knowledge of itself, and the people who hold it for its own.

Dada believes in chaotic creativity. Total anarchy. An end of values, and ethics, and an end to all vertical systems of control and power. It advocates for a kind of freedom that's terrifying to most people. And that's the point.
